Turn on the TV that you want to pair with your remote. Press and hold the code search button on the remote. While holding the code search button, press the button on your RCA remote that matches the equipment you're pairing (e.g. “TV”). Enter the device code you found in step 1.

If you don't know the revision number, you can find it by opening your battery cartridge and removing your batteries. Once you do, you should see a sticker inside with several numbers. The first one is your model number, ignore that for now. Just below the model number should be the revision code.

If you do not have a code for your device, then you can: Download and open the One For All Setup App on your smartphone (iOS & Android) and look up for your device. This Setup App gives you the full access to our code database, where you can download the latest codes for your device.

Reset the remote. Remove the batteries, then press and hold the number 1 key on the remote for several seconds to reset the microprocessor inside the remote. Release the number 1 key, reinstall the batteries, and press the ON•OFF key. If it lights up, reprogram the remote and try again.

Changes are usually identified by a number or letter code, termed the "revision number", "revision level", or simply "revision". For example, an initial set of files is "revision 1". When the first change is made, the resulting set is "revision 2", and so on.

However, the most common reasons for a TV remote that is not working are battery issues, paring issues, or infrared sensor issues. Press the power button while pointing the remote control at your TV. Make sure the LED indicator on the TV blinks. If not, your remote does not have enough power remaining in the batteries.

Many universal remote controls come with a user manual that includes a list of codes for various TV brands. Look for your TV brand in the manual and note down the corresponding 4 digit code.
