Inn Rooms

The Potawatomi Inn offers guests a variety of rooms and suites (some ADA accessible), all furnished with comfortable beds and amenities. Rooms in the Historic section have full-size beds, while newer rooms feature Queen beds. On the ground level there are Patio Rooms with private patio doors opening onto an outdoor patio overlooking the lake or park.

Guests can also enjoy access to the park’s many attractions and facilities. Plus, the Pokagon State Park Inn offers access to Lake James right outside your door.

LAKEVIEW RESTAURANT

Open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Open to the public. Seating limited. Carryout available.

COURTYARD CAFE

Open to the public. Offering indoor and outdoor seating. Serving hand-dipped ice cream, made-to-order sandwiches, appetizers/sides, soup, and house-made pizza.

  • Friday: 4 pm - 8 pm
  • Saturday: 11 am - 8 pm
  • Hours may vary seasonally and depending on staff availability.

GAME ROOM

Located on the ground level of the Inn. You can enjoy table tennis (a.k.a. ping pong – paddles and balls available at the front desk), air hockey, foosball, arcade games, and more. A change machine is located in the arcade area for your convenience. Board games are available at the front desk.

BICYCLE RENTALS

Cruiser and 7-speed bicycles are available for rent at the Potawatomi Inn front desk from 8 am to 8 pm, May through October.

GIFT SHOP

Located directly across from the front desk of the Potawatomi Inn. Find a variety of gifts and souvenirs, including many Indiana made or regional products.

FIRE PIT

A bonfire pit with bench seating overlooks Lake James and is maintained daily. Bring what you need to make s’mores, or buy it at the gift shop. Firewood is available. Ask at the front desk for help.

SUN DECK

A spacious sun deck overlooking Lake James is connected to the historic portion of the Potawatomi Inn. Located on the first floor (main level), and open to all registered guests. This is a great place to sit, relax, and soak up the sun’s warmth. It would also make a lovely place for a wedding!

FITNESS CENTER

Located on the ground level of the Inn, and open to all registered guests ages 18 or older. The maximum capacity of the fitness center is 6 guests. Proper attire including shoes and shirts must be worn at all times. No food or glass containers are permitted.

CRAFT ROOM

Located on the ground floor of the Inn. Offering small wood and ceramic pieces to purchase and decorate with their paints and other supplies. A perfect thing to do when it is raining outside.

  • Hours may vary depending on staff availability. Check with the front desk for current hours.

SWIMMING POOL / HOT TUB / SAUNA

Located on the ground level of the Inn (below the sun deck), and open to all registered guests. The aquatic center features a swimming pool, hot tub, and sauna, as well as changing rooms/restrooms. You must be 18 years or older to use the hot tub.

SUN PORCH

Located on the main level (first floor) along the length of the dining room. An ideal place to relax with a book or watch the sunset over Lake James.

LIBRARY

A cozy library on the first floor (main level) offers a quiet retreat for your reading pleasure.

LOUNGES

You’ll find several lounging areas throughout the Inn, some with fireplaces. One even features a fish aquarium with native fish.

Coffee/Tea

A complimentary coffee/hot tea station is located near the front desk.

Mail

Postage is available at the front desk, and outgoing mail is picked up by 11:30 am Monday through Saturday.

ATM

An ATM is conveniently located on the property for guests needing cash.

Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the Inn, including the conference area.

WEDDING/BANQUET FACILITIES & MEETING AREAS

Located on the first floor (main level), this room has 5,926 square feet of space, holding banquets of up to 400 people. Room capacity is 500 people based on seating arrangement. Featuring an integrated sound/lighting system and projector. In addition, the attached Stillwater Lounge offers an additional 382 square feet, with private patio and firepits.

Located on the first floor (main level), offering 1,114 square feet of space across from the Courtyard. Maximum capacity is 100 people with theater seating. This room also features a pull-down projector screen.

Located on the main level (first floor), with 808 square feet of space. This room has natural light, a pull-down projector screen, and can be split into 2 rooms. Room capacity is 50 people based on seating arrangement.

Located on the main level (first floor), with 1,273 square feet of space. This room has loads of natural light, a pull-down projector screen, and can also be split into 2 rooms. Maximum capacity is 100 people based on seating arrangement.

Located on the ground (lower) level in the Historic Section of the Inn, this 1, 012 square foot room is near the indoor pool/hot tub/sauna and has an exit door to the lawn, fire pit and beach. Maximum capacity is 60 people based on seating arrangement.

Located on the first floor (main level) of the Historic Section, just outside the Lakeview Restaurant, near the Lonidaw Lounge and guest restrooms. This 358 square foot room accommodates up to 12 people using conference seating. Arched windows look out onto the park.

Located on the main level (first floor) in the Historic Section, the large outdoor Sun Deck offers incredible views of Lake James and the park, and a staircase leads down to the lawn and beachfront. Capacity is up to 250 people based on seating arrangement. The Sun Deck is available to rent for 4 hours with use of the Lake James Ballroom.

Located on the first floor (main level), near the Courtyard Cafe. The private, enclosed Courtyard hold up to 60 people based on seating arrangement, and it is available to rent for 4 hours with the use of a second event space.

Can you drink alcohol at Pokagon State Park? ›

Honestly, the most asked question is about Pokagon State Park alcohol rules. Daily visitors at all DNR properties are asked to be responsible. Nobody under 21 is allowed to possess alcohol. No alcohol allowed at the beaches.
