Features

Voice Commands Take the guesswork out of navigating your Hopper system by using voice commands to find your programming, tune to channels, launch Netflix, and more! Since the Google Assistant is built into your receiver, you can also use voice commands to find a recipe, get information on an actor, find weather and traffic in your area, manage your appointments, and get answers on pretty much anything else you want to know about. Voice functionality requires an active internet connection.

Remote Finder

Can’t find your remote? Don’t panic! Simply press the Locate Remote button on the front panel of your receiver.

  • Personalize Your Remote With customizable buttons, you can turn closed captioning on and off, launch Netflix®, turn on Picture-in-picture (PiP), record a program, and more, with just one click.
  • Let There Be Light Too dark to see the buttons on your remote? Activate the backlighting on your remote by simply picking it up, moving it, or shaking it gently in a dark room.
  • Remote Buttons Click a button on the remote to see its functions or get a list of all buttons with their functions. Log in to shop remotes.
  • Power Button Cycle power on/off
  • DVR Button Display Recordings menu (if pressed one time); Display PrimeTime Anytime menu (if pressed two times)
  • Home Button Display the Home Screen (if pressed one time) Display Menu (if pressed two times) Display Diagnostics (if pressed three times)
  • Guide Button Display Program Guide (if pressed one time) Access Guide Options (if pressed two times)

Play/Pause Button

  • Skip forward 24 hours (if on Guide and held)
  • Fast-forward speed to 15x (if pressed one time while fast-forwarding)

Volume Up/Down Button Increase/decrease sound Recall Button

  • Moves a recording to the trash (if pressed when a recording is selected in the Recordings menu)
  • Recovers a deleted recording from the trash (if pressed when a recording is selected in the Trash menu)
  • Recalls to the last channel watched (if “Tunes to Last Channel” is enabled)

Yes, you can have more then one remote to the same receiver. If you want the Voice to work you need your receiver to be hooked up to the internet.

does this remote work with dish wally’s receiver

Yes, it does just like it does with the hopper. Just got through setting it up in our fifth wheel which has a wally. Hope that helps. Mike C

Does this remote work with all receivers?

No. This is a Hopper/Joey/Wally remote. To work voice command you have to have internet service to the hopper.
Dish Vip(722/222/622/322/211/311/625) you would need a different remote.

Does/will this work with the 2.0 joey’s.. seen mixed answers to this question. sounds more of a yes than no though.. need a simple yes or no..

Dish says that it will work on all hoppers and joeys family, I only tried it on the hopper and it works well

Dish Hopper system is a satellite system that allows you to watch and record several programs at the same time

do i need a hopper to make this control work with disk?

Yes, this is designed to work with the hopper receiver from Dish Network.

How do the Dish 54.0 and Dish 50.0 remote controls differ? They are both apparently voice-controlled.

The 54.0 has two keys that you can program to do whatever you would like and it automatically lights up the buttons whenever you move it around.
