Our summer staff are recruited from around the world. They are college students, parents, teachers, and others who enjoy working with children.

Camp staff make camp an amazing experience for Girl Scouts and have the opportunity to build their resume and have fun in the sun. Staff can work from 2 weeks to 8 weeks. Training, salary and discounted camp registration for daughters is provided.

Some of the positions we have include:

Unit Leaders are responsible for everything that happens in a camp unit: camper supervision, girl planning, and program delivery. The UL supervises 3-4 Unit Assistants and as many as 32 campers. (Age 21+)

Unit Assistants are responsible for the health and welfare of the campers in their charge and for helping girls plan and carry out their own program. (Age 18+)

Camp Program Aide
Gain valuable leadership experience and have fun at this camp program that expands on your Program Aide training. Camp Program Aides assist in all areas of camp—waterfront, adventure, office, kitchen, crafts, and in units. In between, you’ll get to enjoy camp program areas as a unit.

Counselor in Training (CIT)
This two-year training program provides you with skills and knowledge you’ll need to become a successful camp staff member. In your first year, spend four weeks brushing up on your camp skills, practicing new leadership skills, and gaining valuable experience working with campers.

The next year, refine your skills by observing and assisting experienced staff, and then be fully immersed in working with an assigned camper group.

Interested in one of these leadership programs?
Register for either program through your favorite camp; space is limited in these programs. To complete registration for the CIT program, girls will be sent an application and reference form, and take part in an interview before camp begins.

In order to ensure all girls can benefit from a great camp experience, the Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains makes financial aid available for all girls living within our council jurisdiction. Financial aid for camp can be requested through our online registration system, by selecting Financial Aid at checkout. To learn more about financial aid, visit our Financial Assistance page.
